Aradhana 2026
105th Aradhana Mahotsava of Janopakari Doddanna Shetty
About Aradhana
Aradhana is the annual remembrance day observed on the punyatithi (death anniversary) of Janopakari Doddanna Shetty, who attained samadhi on 5 August 1921 after taking Sannyasa in his later years. It is a day of prayer, service and reflection at the SLN Aashrama.
2026 observance
The 105th Aradhana Mahotsava was held on 5 August 2026 at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple and Aashrama, OPH Road, Shivaji Nagar. A homa (sacred fire ritual), abhisheka and special pooja were performed in the morning, attended by the founder's descendants, trustees and senior students.
Free annadana & medical camp
Free meals were distributed to over 1,500 devotees and the destitute through the day — a continuation of the founder's lifelong vow to never turn anyone away hungry. A free medical and eye-check camp was also organised on the hostel grounds in partnership with local doctors.
Discourse & remembrance
In the evening, a spiritual discourse on the life of Janopakari Doddanna Shetty was delivered at the Aashrama, followed by collective bhajan singing. Old students of the SLN Dharmapatashale shared memories of how the trust's free education shaped their lives.
